The projects range in size from approximately 1,000 to 8,000 square feet, and estimated construction costs of $1.5M to $3.5M. Construction completion schedules vary from project, location, and time of year, but are usually 6-12 months for construction. The building systems may vary in construction materials/systems, but in general will be typical of residential type construction built on site. Applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria: (1) five (5) years experience as a prime general contractor; (2) references; (3) successful completion of projects of similar size and scope; (4) valid contractors license for the State of Alaska; (5) proof of financial stability and bonding capacity; (6) current workload and capacity inrelation to company resources; (7) small, minority, and woman-owned business subcontracting plan; and (8) geographic location of firms relative to project sites. Prequalification statements will be evaluated by a USPS committee, and only BEST QUALIFIED firms will be selected.
