The U.S. Information Agency (USIA), International Broadcasting Bureau (IBB), Contracts and Procurement Division (B/PA/AC), has a requirement for a contractor to design, fabricate and deliver one winding drum type, self powered, single point of attachment powered suspension scaffold/work platform for maintenance of HF broadcast antennas at the IBB Tinian Transmitting Station. There will be an option to purchase a second scaffold/work platform for use at the IBB Sao Tome Transmitting Station. The Government anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price contract (purchase order), utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures as specified in the Federal Acquistion Regulation Part 13, to the responsible quoter (offeror) whose price quotation (offer), conforming to the forthcomming RFQ, will be most advantageous to the Government based on price and other factors. The Contracting Officer has determined that this procurement is appropriate for an "unrestricted procurement" pursuant to FAR Subpart 19.502 (Setting AsideAcquisitions). All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the Government. Request for Quotation (RFQ) Number 50650-190 is scheduled for release on March 8, 1999.
