Contracting Officer 970/874-6613 Purpose of this contract is to secure
services to interplant approximately 309 acres with 1-0 containerized
and 2-0 bare root Ponderosa Pine seedlings in accordance with sound
silvicultural principles. Project proposals should address all physical
& tehnical aspects involved with handling & planting trees. At a
minimum, each of the technical items should be addressed in detail.
Technical items: -property furnished by Contractor(**Property that will
be provided by the government includes: Trees, artificial shade &
polymer root dip compound.) -Use of Natural Shade -Installation of
Artificial Shade (shade tubes w/wood stakes) -Planting Tools -- each
stock type -Planting Bags -Care of Trees (drying, heating, freezing,
etc.) -Preparation of trees (handling, jelly rolling, etc.) -Spot
Selection Criteria -Spot preparation (Scalping) -Planting hole
preparation (depth, etc.) -Attempts -Tree Placement -Root Placement
-Filling & Firming -Weather & Soil Moisture (stop/start work) -Tree
Storage (Late afternoon, night and early morning) -Emergency Control --
Fire plan/prevention Project is located on the Norwood Ranger District,
Montrose County, CO, GMUG National Forest. Contract time is 16 calendar
days. This is a performance based contract. See Numbered Note No. 1.
