Construction Depot Supply K-Span Improvement Project. The Aeronautical Systems Center, Foreign Military Sales Offices (ASC/PKWTP) has construction requirements the Depot Supply K-Span Improvement Project at King Abdulaziz Air Base, Dhahran, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The construction period is eight (8) months and the estimated cost of the proposed acquisition is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The contract type anticipated is Firm-Fixed Price (FFP). The contractor shall provide labor, material, equipment transportation and supervision to perform this effort. The successful contractor must possess a current Saudi Arabian Ministry of Commerce Commercial Registration. Therefore, only those registered to do business in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be considered for award. The closing date for submission of proposals is 45 days from release of the Request For Proposal (RFP). RFP release date is estimated to be 26 February 1999. Mr. Stephen J. Plaisted has been appointed as Ombudsman to hear concerns from offerors, or potential offerors, during the proposal development. The purpose of the Ombudsman is to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. Existence of an Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the program manager or the contracting officer.
