The Navy requires one Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) Wire Electrical Discharge machine. The machine will be used in the development of plastic injection molds, extrusion dies, and other prototype and production hardware required in the research and development of military-use items. The machine shall be the submerged type and shall operate on 220volts/3ph. It shall have an Automatic Wire Threader completely programmable from the user screen or from within the part program. Delivery is required FOB Crane, IN within 120 days after contract award. The vendor shall be responsible for unloading the machine at Crane and leveling and setting in place. After the machine has utilities connected by the user, the vendor shall provide three days of training at Crane for up to four operators. There will be an option for advanced training for the same operators at a later date within 180 days of the first training session. Data in the form of operation manuals, electrical schematics, and machine layout diagrams shall be required. The sucessful contractor will be required to demonstrate the ability to provide onsite service calls within 24 hours of notification. There is a pre-award requirement for a demonstration of a machine of the same model being proposed at the contractor's facility or at one of the contractor's customer's facilities. Final inspection and acceptance shall be at Crane, IN. This procurement is set-aside 100% for small business concerns. The Stadard Industrial Classification is 3541 and the size standard is 500 employees. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered.
