The Government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Orenda Aerospace Corp for the refurbishment of the F404-F1D2 front frames, part number 6046T39G02. The contractor shall provide all management, engineering, technical expertise, plant facilities, labor and equipment to perform repair in accordance with Military Support Instructions (MSI) F404-490, F404-451-1, Time Compliance Directives/Service Bulletin J-0062 (TCD/SB). Because Orenda Aerospace Corp holds the proprietary process for strut removal and replacement, only that firm has sufficient knowledge of the requirements to provide the required effort. Period of performance is for one base year to commence 01 June 1999 or date of contract award, which ever is later, and will include four (4) one-year option periods to extend the contract.
