K -- MODIFICATIONS TO BARRINGTON ENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM SOL 573-017-99 POC Richard Powell, 352 374-6033 DESC: The Department of Veterans Affairs North Florida South Georgia Health Care System, 1601 SW Archer Road, Gainesville, FL 32608, intends to negotiate with only one source, Allied Controls with Barrington Systems. The Gainesville Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Gainesville, FL has a requirement for service and modifications to the Barrington Energy Management System. Modifications include replacement of six (6) existing Barrington Commstars with new Barrington LanStars which are Year 2000 Compliant, seven new Barrington Lanstars (one for backup), six Barrington Rough In Sections (used for wall mounting), Six new power supplies for existing Microstars (current Microstars powered by Commstars), Six new Sola Voltage Regulators (for storm protection), one new high speed modem (56k baud rate), all required Misc. Materials (new com. cables etc.), replacement of Commstar Hub with Barrington LAN Network (56k baud rate), system installation. Training on operation and Maintenance of new system, Work includestesting, verification, and written certification that entire Barrington Energy Management System is Year 2000 Compliant. Contractor must have a thorough knowledge of existing system to provide this replacement. All parts and materials to be furnished must be supplied by the manufacturer or be manufacturer authorized replacement of high quality and suitable for the purpose intended. Installation must be provided by manufacturer factory trained and certified service technicians A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
