A -- QUANTITATIVE HISTOLOGIC ANALYSIS OF SCHISTOSOME GRANULOMAS IN MICE N01-AI-55270 The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases intends to negotiate with Biomedical Research Institute(BRI) to add a requirement to acquire technical services in support of DIR's Schistosome research. Specifically, the services will be quantitative histologic analysis of egg granulomas in livers, lungs and intestines of infected mice, chemical determinations of fibrosis levels in infected livers, and measurement of adult worm and egg burdens in same infected animals. Only BRI has the trained personnel, with experience in providing these analyses. The difficulty and expense of maintain continuity and comparability of results through a different contractor bar us from competing this requirement until the research reaches a severable point.
