NASA/KSC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (PR9048-4040) on a sole source basis for the procurement of two ADC Broadband Communications Model HX7L09DTA114 Hi Performance TX Modules (8mW) 750 MHz APC/FC, two Hi Performance TX Modules (4mW) with two O/P 60/40 Split 750MHz APC/FC, Model HX7LO6DTA314, three Dual 110 Vac Integrated Fan/Power Supply, five Power Supply Control Modules, three Universal Shelves, thirteen Blank Module Covers, two Hi Perfromance RX Modules 750 MHz Ultra FC/PC, Model HX7138RX1, three 1 RU Forward Path Optical Receivers 750 MHz, Model HWRM3RL1ZNOFPC, three Variable Optical Attenuators, Model APC-SPFC/SPFC-H-3M, various sizes of Fiber Optic Jumpers for Optical Equipment, and Extra TX and RX Manuals. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/KSC intends to purchase the items from ADC Broadband Communications, 999 Research Parkway, Meridian, CT 060450-0812. ADC Broadband Communications is the only known source that can satisfy this NASA requirement. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have until February 23, 1999 to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after February 23, 1999 or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
