This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared
in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a
written solicitation will not be issued. If you are interested in

(jacksonc@scott.disa.mil) (ii) This solicitation is a Request for
Quotation (RFQ). The number is DCA200-99-Q-5040. (iii) The RFQ document
and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through
Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 97-10 and Defense Acquisition
Circular (DAC) 91-13. (iv) This acquisition is full and open
competition. SIC 7377, Computer Rental and Leasing. Size standard $18M.
(v) Provide a price for the following item (requirement description is
set forth in para (vi) below): CLIN 0001 Nine (9) month Lease for One
(1) each 600 GB Raid DASD, IBM RAMAC VIRTUAL ARRAY OR EQUIVALENT for
DMC Columbus. (vi) Description of Requirement -- Minimum Requirements:
9-month lease, 600 GB RAID DASD, IBM RAMAC Virtual Array or
Equivalent, 1 GB Cache, 8 Escon channels. The ability to format the
drives as IBM model 3390-3 and 3380K is required. Both architectures
are required concurrently. Microcode must be Year 2000 compliant. New
or used equipment warranted that it is acceptable for original
equipment manufacturer (OEM) maintenance is acceptable. Proposals shall
include installation and delivery. (vii) Date of delivery is 5 Mar 99,
FOB Destination. Place of delivery is DMC Columbus, 3990 E. Broad
Street, Bldg. 23, Columbus, OH 43216. (viii) FAR 52.212-1 applies to
this acquisition. 52.212-1 (b)(4): Offerors shall submit a technical
description of the items being offered in sufficient detail to evaluate
compliance with therequirements stated in para (vi) in lieu of written
technical proposals. This may include existing product literature, or
other documents, if necessary. 52.212-(b)(10) Provide information on
at least three previous contracts completed. Include POC, phone
numbers, contract numbers, and other relevant information. Preferably
government contracts. (ix) FAR 52.212-2 does not apply to this
acquisition. Contract will be awarded based on technically acceptable,
low price offer. (x) Proposals shall include a completed copy of the
provisions at FAR 52.212-3 and DFARS 252.212-7000 and 252.212-7022.
(xi) FAR 52.212-4 applies to this acquisition. (xii) FAR 52.212-5
applies to this acquisition; FAR 52.212-5(b): the following additional
FAR clauses apply to this acquisition: 52.203-6, 52.219-8, 52.222-35,
52.222-37. (xiii) Additional requirements: (1) the following FAR
clauses apply to this acquisition: 52.217-8, 52.232-33, 52.252-2
(access to clauses can be made via www.far.npr.gov), (2) DFARS
252.212-7001 applies to this acquisition -- DFARS 252.212-7001(b): the
following additional DFARS clauses apply to this acquisition:
252.204.7004, 252.205-7000, 252.219-7005, 252.225-7012, 252.225-701,
252.227-7015, 252.247-7024. (3) The contract type will be a firm fixed
price. (4) Year 2000 Compliance applies to this acquisition. (a) "Year
2000 compliant," as used in this part, means, with respect to
information technology, that the information technology accurately
processes date/time data (including, but not limited to, calculating,
comparing, and sequencing) from, into, and between the twentieth and
twenty-first centuries, and the years 1999 and 2000 and leap year
calculations, to the extent that other information technology, used in
combination with the information technology being acquired, properly
exchanges date/time data with it. (b) To ensure Year 2000 compliance,
the contractor shall, at a minimum, test a representative sampling of
the information technology, or the same type of information technology,
that will be provided under the contract. Year 2000 Compliance testing
will be accomplished and documented in accordance with generally
accepted commercial standards/practices. If requested, the contractor
shall provide the Government with a copy of such Year 2000 Compliance
test documentation at no additional cost to the Government. (xiv) DPAS
is not applicable. (xv) CBD numbered notes are not applicable. (xvi)
