Ward The project is identified as a Level III Heritage Resource
Inventory of all previously uninventoried areas of the Upper Blue
Timber Sale project. The purpose is to identify, record, and evaluate
for the National Register of Historic Places, all historic (cultural
manifestations 50 or more years old) and prehoristic properties
(Heritage Resources) within the inventory areas. Data derived from this
project will be used for compliance with the rewuirements of Section
106 of the National Historic Preservation Act as amended, and the
Archaeoligical Resources Protection AAct as amended pertaining to
potentialeffects on heritage resources. To accomplish these objectives,
the Contractorshall review existing sources of informaion on the
heritage resources of the general project area, conduct a field survey
of the identified areas, prepare an inventory of located heritage
resource properties, analyze the results of this investigation, and
submit a report documenting completion of these tasks to the White
River National Forest Archaeologist. The report shall make
recommendations regarding the potential of the surrounding areas,
recommendations for additional inventory if needed, and eash site's
eligibility for the National Register of Historic Places. Project is
located taking I-70 drive to Frisco, turn on Hwy 9 drive 3.5 miles to
the entrance fo the Blue River into Dillon Resevoir. Project begins
here on the west side of Hwy 9 and it goes south to Breckenridge,
