Center (NETC) has a requirement for training development support
services. The Contractor shall be required to perform tasks to manage
the design, development, pilot testing and revision of new courses, and
the review, evaluation and updating of some existing courses. Examples
of types of products to be developed under this contract include
classroom-based training ranging from one-day workshops to two-week
courses; distance learning events such as two-way interactive video
conferencing or self-paced, print-based course materials; stand-alone
computer-based, multi-media training or using LANs or WANs. The period
of performance of the contract will be three years. Award of a time
and materials, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract in
which task orders will be issued is anticipated. The Request for
Proposal (RFP) will be available on or about April 27, 1999; proposals
due on or about May 24, 1999. All requests for the RFP must be
submitted in writing or may be faxed to (301) 447-1092. The anticipated
award date is July 21, 1999. This acquisition is being offered for
competition limited to eligible 8(a) concerns. The applicable Standard
Industrial Classification (SIC) code is 8299, Schools and Educational
Services, N.E.C., with a size standard of $5.0 million average annual
receipts for three preceding fiscal years. Eligibility to participate
may be restricted to firms in either the developmental or transitional
stage. Interested 8(a) firms are encouraged to request a copy of the
solicitation as expeditiously as possible since the solicitation will
be issued without further notice upon SBA acceptance of the requirement
