10 -- JDAM INTEGRATION SUPPORT FOR FOLLOW-ON AIRCRAFT POC Contact, Major Mike Joy, 850-882-3525 ext 3213/Audrea Majors, Contracting Officer, 850-882-3525 ext 3124 The Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) Systems Program Office, Air Armament Center (AAC), Eglin AFB, Florida, intends to issue a contract to McDonnell Douglas Corporation, A Wholly-Owned Subsidiary of the Boeing Company, to provide JDAM integration support on various aircraft platforms. These platforms include: F-15, F-16C/D, F-14, the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF), F-22, F-117, F/A-18, AV-8B, B-1B, B-2A, B-52, P-3 and S-3. McDonnell Douglas Corporation is currently the JDAM prime contractor and has sole responsibility for the design and warranty of the JDAM weapon system. McDonnell Douglas is not required to furnish a technical data package to the Government. Therefore a data package is not available to any other companies to enable them to learn the JDAM design or to accomplish JDAM integration on the above designated platforms. An ombudsman has been appointed to address concerns relating to this acquisition. The Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but communicates contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation process.
