The Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Program Office intends to procure additional risk reduction efforts under the JSF F-120 Engine Program by modifying Contract N00019-96-C-0176. These efforts include Compressor distortion testing, Compressor evaluation during the Phase II core test program, development of high temperature Thermal Barrier Coating (TBC) and Casting process development. These efforts will require the expert knowledge and capabilities of the JSF F-120 Engine contractor, General Electric Aircraft Engines, as well as that of their principle subcontractors, Rolls Royce and Allison Advanced Development Company. GEAE is the only responsible source capable of meeting the Government's needs for this development effort. This modification is to be funded with FY99 funds.
