The USDA Forest Service intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Ducks Unlimited, Inc. The purpose of the contract is a continuation of an on-going project to understand the influence of vegetation succession on the wetland ecosystem of the Copper River Delta, and provide baseline information for modeling the influence of these changes on wildlife and fish populations. The contract is to be completed no later than September 30, 1999. The proposed Contractor intimate familiarity with Copper River Delta vegetation, the databases, and the specific structure of the succession model will allow them to efficiently and effectively complete the project by the September 30, 1999 deadline. The proposed Contractor has extensive experience in generating baseline landcover information on the Chugach National Forest.
