Command (NAVSEA) intends to modify Contract N00024-94-C-5441 with
Northrop Grumman Norden Systems, Inc. (NGNS) of 65 Marcus Drive,
Melville, NY 11747, to add new scope work to the existing development,
low-rate-initial-production (LRIP) contract. The contract currently
stipulates that the AN/APG-68 Transmitters, which were originally
developed and produced by NGNS, are currently being provided as
Government Furnished Property (GFP) for incorporation into the
AN/SPQ-9B Radar System. This modification to the GFP is correct the
transmitter stability, transmitter reliability, and configuration
problems while reducing power issues which currently exists. NGNS is
the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and the sole producer of the
AN/APG-68 Transmitter for the USAF. Therefore, no other firm possesses
the technical expertise required to analyze and design a modification
to this GFP, which will This new scope change order modification will
be issued pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). "Only one or a limited
