Material has been collected into piles and temporarily stored at Air Force training ranges throughout the United States; it now needs to be rendered safe (non-explosive) and removed. Since OEW includes large amounts of recyclable material (primarily steel, aluminum, and brass), disposal through recycling shall be used to offset removal costs, including the cost of removing less-valuable material (such as tires and concrete) and other associated actions. It is the Government's intent to release the formal Request for Proposal (RFP) by March 1999. At this time we will create an official Source List. Interested offerors are requested to add their names to the Source List by e-mailing (dale.vandyke@langley.af.mil) or FAXing (FAX number: 757-764-9695) to the attention of 1st Lt. Dale Van Dyke. Offerors should reference the solicitation number, including complete email and mailing address and indicate whether their firm is a small business, small disadvantaged business, or a woman owned business. Removal effort does not include collection of OEW into piles; it only includes its removal from these centralized locations at each range. Sites include 9 ranges found near 6 Air Force Bases across Air Combat Command (ACC).
