The Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Program Office intends to procure additional Surface Erosion Materials Characterization efforts by modifying Contract N00019-97-C-0135. Required efforts include development of an expanded database on surface resistance to jet blast. These data will be used to support quantification of any operational limits of the JSF concepts in shipboard environments and at austere sites. Only British Aerospace possesses the necessary knowledge, data, equipment, facilities, and unique experience required to perform this contract. This modification is to be funded with FY99 funds.
