Social Security Administration (SSA) has a requirement for a contractor
to perform Physician Credential Checks of Disciplinary Action Data. The
contractor must provide the most current, comprehensive and accurate
data regarding licensed physicians, to ensure that all physicians who
perform consultative examinations or review disability files for SSA
have valid credentials. The information obtained shall cover all
states, and shall reveal disciplinary actions, if any, taken against
the physicians(s) which resulted from formal actions (charges) taken by
reporting medical licensing and disciplinary boards or other official
sources. It is anticipated that the estimated quantity of request to be
given to the contractor will be 8,000 names per year. This procurement
will be for commercial services prepared in accordance with Federal
Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 and will be conducted using
simplified acquisition test procedures. This request for quotation and
incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through
Federal Acquisition Circular 97-10. The period of performance shall be
for one year from date of award or March 20, 1999, whichever is later,
with provisions for the inclusion of four (4) one-year option periods.
Request for Quotation (RFQ), Number SSA-RFQ-99-3767 is scheduled for
release on or about February 24, 1999 with quotes due 20 days
thereafter. Requests for the RFQ should be received no later than 10
days after the date of this publication. No telephone requests for the
RFQ will be honored. This requirement is a 100% small business
set-aside. Quotes received from other than small businesses will be
deemed unacceptable and given no further consideration. Request for the
