Krutz, Contracting Officer, (601) 686-5361 The U.S. Department of Agriculture requires the necessary labor, materials, parts, equipment and supervision necessary for Phase VI of the Administrative Wing Window Replacement at the USDA, ARS, Southern Regional Research Center, New Orleans, Louisiana. The work consists of six phases with phases I, II, IV, and V having been completed, Phase III has been skipped for the time being. The work includes but is not limited to: renovation of the offices and support spaces; work will encompass all four floors and the mechanical penthouse; asbestos abatement; lead paint removal; demolition; and renovation of the spaces within the limits of this phase. Renovations include new exterior brick walls where window walls are removed, new windows, new interior metal stud and gypsum board walls, exterior masonry cleaning and waterproofing, and miscellaneous electrical work. The existing affected office will remain in operation during construction. Temporary partitions shall be installed. The work will be completed in 120 days. An IFB will be issued on or about March 10, 1999. An estimated cost of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000.
