SYSTEM SOL ORD #18 DUE 031099 POC Hans Schellhas or Marie Nichols WEB:
na, na. E-MAIL: U.S. EPA Contracts Management Division -- Cincinnati,
schellhas.hans@epamail.epa.gov. The U.S. EPA requires a drinking water
treatment pilot plant PC-based data acquisition and analysis system.
The pilot plant treatment train consists of coagulation, flocculation,
sedimentation and filtration processes. Monitoring parameters include
turbidity, temperature, pH and particle counts. Measurements of each
parameter must be simultaneously made at as many as 9 sites. The pilot
plant is unique in that the total system flow rate is only 100 ml/min
through primarily 1/2" and 1/4" diameter teflon and stainless steel
tubing. Data from monitoring devices and sensors must be collected by
a central processor center (high speed personal computer) and data
viewing and measurement options must be controlled by a computer and
appropriate software. Data output must be in a form that is easily
transferable to common spreadsheet and graphical packages including
Microsoft Excel and Sigma Plot. The ability to manually
discontinue/continue monitoring during sample events is a software
requirement. A portable computer with the loaded pilot plant control
software must be included to perform data analysis Aoff-site@ and
remote monitoring of the pilot plant during hours when the system is
not staffed. The appropriate connections from the monitoring probes to
the control center must be a able to reach at least 100 feet in
length. The package must include installation assistance, software
training and basic hardware maintenance training to EPA staff. It is
anticipated that the standard commercial item warranty will be
sufficient. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall
