issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Raster Scanner: (1)NSN=6625,
Raster Scanner; to have 10 inch o.d. conflat flanges, electrical vacuum
feedthroughs rated for 15kv, raster scanner rated to 1E-8 torr, overall
length 27.5 inches flange to flange, internal horizontal and vertical
plates with voltage isolation rated at 20 kv plate to plate, NEC model
number 2EA058010, sic: 3826; (2)NSN=6130, High Voltage Power supply
for raster scanner; power supply, raster scanner and controller {item
3} are a matched set, power supply and controller to provide a maximum
output voltage of 20 kv plate to plate and operate at 517 hz
horizontal frequency and 64 hz vertical frequency, to include all
necessary interconnecting cables, NEC model number 2HA059130, sic:
3612; (3)NSN=6625, Raster Scanner Controller; controller-power supply
{item 2} and raster scanner {item 1} are a matched set, 19 inch rack
mountable, power supply and controller to provide a maximum output
voltage of 20 kv plate to plate andoperate at 517 hz horizontal
frequency and 64 hz vertical frequency, NEC model number 2HA059150,
sic: 3829. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified
Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items
from National Electrostatics, P.O. Box 117, Middleton, Wisconsin. This
recommendation is made pursuant to FAR 13.106-2(5). The Government
intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested
firms have until March 11, 1999 to submit in writing to the identified
point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such
qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of
determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive
basis. Responses received after March 11, 1999 or without the required
information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will
not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete
this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon
responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the
Government. Oral communications are acceptable in response to this
notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be
considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed. See Internet
