This requirement is a follow-on acquisition for a potential base period and four one-year option periods for on-site maintenance services presently being provided by Bell & Howell Phillipsburg Co., under contract Tir-95-0002. Bell & Howell used the Mail Star 500 programing and hardware which was specifically modified for IRS use. Maintenance of thirty (30) Mult-functional Document Handling Systems (MDHS) located in the ten (10) IRS Service Centers, was acquired from Bell & Howell under a previous contract. This acquisition requires one (1) Resident Service Technician at each IRS Service Center and at least one (1) Backup Support Technician to provide backup support from the field (consisting of local, regional and national support, as required). The Resident Service Technician, Backup Support Technician and all field support personnel shall have proprietary experience on all Bell & Howell MDHS software, firmware, and hardware, plus other MDHS maintenance support services, MDHS "equivalent" test systems and special field support at the contractor's plant.
