A -- AMENDMENT TO PRDA 98-09-IFKPA, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY APPLICATIONS SOL PRDA 98-09-IFKPA POC Program Manager, Willis Horth, 315-330-3403; Contracting Officer, Joetta A. Bernhard, 315-330-2308 This PRDA was originally published on 10 Feb 1998, and amended on 20 Aug 1998. The purpose of this addendum is to focus the intended application domain on that of Data Intensive System Technology Projections and Comparative Assessment. Today's virtual memory systems inhibit the performance of many applications by running them in a data-starved mode. That is, these applications are not constrained by the processing speed or memory, but rather the inability of the memory system to deliver the requested data in a timely manner. Research under the DARPA/ITO sponsored Data Intensive Systems program seeks to solve this problem by developing new memory architectures that allow applications to manage the placement and flow of data as well as manipulate data in the memory subsystem itself. This addendum is seeking white papers which address the simulation, emulation or experimental application (or incorporation) of Data Intensive Computing technologies on/into systems either in operational use and under upgrade, or under initial development. Such applications may include, but are not limited to, Information Fusion, Multi-Dimensional Signal Processing and Knowledge Bases. Other than the intent to focus the application domain on Data Intensive System Technology Projections and Comparative Assessment, all other information as presented in the original PRDA announcement remains valid. Submission of white papers for initial consideration is requested by (15 days from CBD announcement). All addresses, evaluation factors, etc., remain as originally published. Posted 02/23/99 (W-SN301340). (0054)
