The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to enter into a sole source contract with the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), National Research Council (NRC), 2101 Constitution Avenue, Washington, D.C. under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) -- Only one responsible source. This procurement requires the expertise of an unbiased and independent research organization, with multidisciplinary membership, to provide continued core support for the operations of the United States National Committee (USNC) for the Committee on Data for Science and Technology (CODATA). NAS is uniquely qualified to perform this requirement based on its past experience and the breadth of available academic, government and private sector resources from which it draws its expertise and knowledge. The period of performance for this requirement is from the award date of the contract through one year with options for two additional one-year periods. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed pricedcontract. The proposed requirement is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within the response date identified will be considered by the government. A Request for Proposal (RFP) package is not available.
