Expansion and renovation to the existing building including concrete
slab and foundation, steel frame, masonry, metal and built-up roofing,
gypsum board, metal studs, vault, tile, storefront, LOG, dock
equipment, CCTV system and complete MEP systems for the Main Post
Office, Burleson, Texas, in accordance with the plans and
specifications. Work must be performed in phases to keep facility
operational during the construction period. Estimated cost range
$1,200,000 -- $1,500,000 and construction time is 365 calendar days. A
preproposal conference will be held on March 9, 1999 at 10:30 am at
the job site -- MPO, Burleson, TX 76028-9998. All interested
contractors are urged to attend. Successful offeror must submit their
Subcontracting Plan for Small and Minority-Owned, and Woman-Owned
Business initially and thereafter with their progress payment requests.
The contractor must subcontract with minority business firms in an
amount aggregating not less than 10% and subcontract with woman-owned
business firms in an amount not less than 7% of the total value of its
subcontracts. Offeror must include documentation from bonding agent
indicating offeror's capability at time offer is due. The successful
contractor will be required to provide 100% Performance and 50% Payment
Bonds within forty-eight (48) hours after notification of award. Offers
will be received in this office, prior to, but not later than 3:30 p.m.
on March 26, 1999. Proposal documents, plans and specifications will be
available on February 26, 1999 at a cost of $100.00 per set
(NON-REFUNDABLE) payable by check or money order only. Requests for

214/871-0616. Checks or money orders must be made payable to
DICKSON/WELLS PARTNERS, INC. Since this is a request for proposals,
offers will not be publicly opened. The number of offers received, the
identity of the offerors, the amount of any one offer, or relative
standing of offeror will not be disclosed. Plans may be inspected at
the issuing office and any questions and/or information regarding this
solicitation may be obtained by calling D'Wayne Bradford, Project

proposal by one of the methods offered by the U.S. Postal Service
