Fish & Wildlife Service, Region 2, seeks bids for the repair of storm damaged roads at Aransas and Matagorda Island National Wildlife Refuges, Texas. Work, at Aransas (mainland) consists of: removal and disposal of asphalt, removal of 150 cubic yards of asphalt and curbing, rotomilling 1,000 square yards of pavement, and saw cutting 250 linear feet; backfilling and compacting for placement of approximately 3600 linear feet of HDPE pipe; placement of about 20,000 tons of hot mix asphaltic concrete, 1500 gallons of prime coat, 8,000 gallons of tack coat, 19,100 gallons of asphalt cement binder, and 69,600 square yards of reinforcement fabric. Work, also, includes installation of traffic signs and striping of approximately 51,500 linear feet of roadway. The work at Aransas National Wildlife Refuge is located in Aransas and Calhoun Counties, Texas. The work at Matagorda Island NWR consists of: clearing, grubbing and disposal of debris; mobilization to and from the Island; approximately 500 cubic yards of excavation; placing of 2100 cubic yards of unclassified borrow; crushing about 600 cubic yards of existing asphalt (including placement); crushing 14,00 cubic yards of existing asphalt (stockpile and finish course); and placing 2,500 cubic yards of finished course of crushed asphalt. The work at Matagorda Island is located in Calhoun County, Texas. The price range (for both projects) is between 1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Bid, performance and payment bonds will be required.
