This solicitation is for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 and FAR Part 13.5, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This solicitation is issued on an unrestricted basis. The requirement is for the following: 1. Purchase and installation of a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) hydraulic ram system on the U. S. Coast Guard Cutter (USCGC) MACKINAW. 2. Technical manuals and engineering drawings for the hydraulic ram system. 3. Removal of the existing electro-mechanical quadrant steering system. All work shall be performed at the ship's homeport in Cheboygan, Michigan. Period of performance: Contract award 1 Jun 99; Delivery of Hydraulic Ram System for installation -- 8 Oct 99; Removal of existing system and installation of new system 8 Oct 99 to 15 Nov 99.
