(301)757-6870 17. The Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue a firm
fixed price contract with The Boeing Company, St. Louis, MO to procure
Consolidated Automated Support System (CASS) Test Program Set (TPS)
development for Weapon Replaceable Assemblies (WRAs) presently
supported on the Intermediate Avionics Test Set (IATS) in support of
the F/A-18 aircraft. This requirement is for supplies for which the
Navy does not own sufficient and accurate design data. The U.S. Navy
intends to procure these CASS TPSs under the authority of 10 U.S.C.
2304(c)(1), only one responsible source. Items to be procured under the
proposed contract include: one set of First Article Units; development
tests and related data; technical, administrative, and financial data;
Integrated Logistics Support Program and associated data; technical
manuals; interim spare parts; and on-site verification and associated
data. The contract will contain options for approximately thirty-four
additional production units. Boeing is the sole designer and developer
of the IATS and associated TPSs and is the only firm known to possess
the experience and expertise to meet fleet requirements. See Note 22.
