On or about Mar 12 the IRS intends to issue a solicitation for the operation and management of its Detroit Computer (DCC) Center Health Improvement Center (HIC) located at 985 Michigan Ave., Detroit, MI. The center totals approximately 8,160 sq. ft. which includes a health unit operated and managed seprately from the HIC. The IRS will provide the space, heating, cooling, lighting, ventilation, utilities, fitness equipment and office furnishings required for the HIC. Some contractor furnished equipment, supplies and services are required. The target audience consists of approx 2,100 IRS employees. Employees of other federal agencies (approx 2,600) in the Detroit metropolitan area may be allowed to join and utilize the fintess center upon approval of the Director, DCC. This will be a firm fixd price conract with a base year plus four option years. A pre-proposal conference and brief visit of the center will be held. Services are required for 12 months beginning Oct 1,1999 subject to availability of funds. This is a commercial item acquisition under FAR Par 12. The SIC for this requirement is 8999.
