Reed, (206) 526-6034, for copy of solicitation call (206) 526-6425 The Government requires a fishing vessel with captain and crew to conduct research on rockfish in the eastern Gulf of Alaska west of Yakutat, Alaska, from aproximately June 12, 1999 to June 29, 1999. The charter will begin and end in Seward, Alaska and the vessel will be allowed to retain the catch once the scientific sampling for each haul is completed. Vessel reequirements include an overall registered length of at least 150 ft; minimum continuous horsepower from the main engine of 1,500;must be a factory trawler able to catch and process fish 24 hrs/day for at least 14 days; be completely rigged for bottom and mid-water trawling(government will provide the bottom trawl);have a conveyer belt flow scale to weigh the raw catch of each haul; and have space to accommodate 10 government scientists for the duration of the charter.All responsible offers will be considered.For further information call Contract Specialist Paul Reed at (206)526-6034, email Paul.J.Reed@noaa.gov.
