is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in
accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented by
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation, and a written solicitation will not
be issued. Solicitation F41689-99-R-A080 is issued as a request for
quotation (RFQ) seeking written quotes for the type of equipment and
installation outlined herein and incorporates provisions and clauses in
effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-10. This requirement is
100% set aside for small business concerns, utilizing the Size
Standard in FAR Part 19 under Standard Industrial Code 3442, and the
Business Size Standard is 500 employees. The government intends to
award a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order under Simplified Acquisition
Procedures (SAP). AETC CONS, DeCA Flight, Lackland AFB TX, has a
requirement for the following items: 0001 _ Supply and install 4 (four)
new Dor-O-Matic all electric Astro-Fold automatic folding door pairs,
or equal, in 72_ door openings, 2-way traffic, to include demolition of
existing electrically operated swing door pairs, accessories, and
appurtenances AND 0002 _ Supply and install 8 (eight) new Dor-O-Matic
all electric Astro-Fold automatic folding door pairs or equal in 36_
openings, 2-way traffic, to include demolition of existing electrically
operated swing door pairs, accessories, and appurtenances. If offering
an equal, Offerors must provide brochures/literature of doors being
offered along with their quote. Doors must meet or exceed the minimum
operational and feature requirements of the following Statement of
Work: 1 Ascertain existing conditions and take field measurements
necessary to order replacement doors. 2. Phase work so that only one
door at a time is secured for replacement. Coordinate all work
scheduling with the Commissary Store Officer. 3. Dismantle existing
electrically operated swing doors and all accessories, operators, and
appurtenances and remove from site. 4. Furnish and install four new
Dor-O-Matic all electric Astro-Fold automatic folding doors, or equal,
in 72_ door openings, 1-way traffic. 5. Furnish and install eight new
Dor-O-Matic all electric Astro-Fold automatic folding doors or equal
in 36_ door openings, 1-way traffic. 6. Adjust and test doors to ensure
proper operation. 7. Provide 3 bound copies of operation and
maintenance manuals. 8. EQUIPMENT: (a) Header equal to min. 9_ high by
6_ wide. (b) Provide folding doors, panels and jambs with 1_ vinyl
finger guards. (c) Aluminum Sections: (1) Folding doors and panels
shall be heavy-duty interlocked sections and through-rod bolted
construction. (2) All exposed aluminum surfaces shall be finished in
etched an anodized aluminum in DC 13 dark bronze aluminum finish. (d)
Motor/Gear Box Operator: (1) Door manufacturer_s self-contained
electro-mechanical operator, housed overhead in the header. (2) Access
to operator shall be provided with full width hinged cover for easy
serviceability and complete concealment. (3) Gears and cams shall be
machined stainless steel (4) Housing shall be fully enclosed oil-filled
casing with no exposed gears, cams, or switches. (e) Control box (1)
Universal type, microprocessor control box with function and latch
selector dials. (2) Power boost closing available at flip switch. (f)
Activating controls shall be manufacturer_s scan motion detector. (g)
Safety System shall consist of two (2) horizontal safety beams, a
Look-See or equal threshold safety scanner, and a safety activation
beam. (h) Security lock bolt shall be Adams-Rite maximum-security lock
bolt that locks with thumb-turn release on interior of folding door(s)
to conform to NFPA 101. INSTALLATION: Doors, operators, and accessories
shall be furnished and installed by the doors manufacturer_s authorized
area representative whose supervisory technician shall be factory
trained with a minimum 3-years experience in strict accordance with the
manufacturer_s recommendations. 9. The required delivery and complete
installation is 60 calendar daysafter award. 10. All equipment and
material removed as part of the demolition of the existing doors shall
become the property of the contractor. FOB destination is required by
the Government. FOB point for supply, and installation is the Ft
Huachuca Commissary AZ. Contractor shall provide all material, labor,
equipment and transportation necessary to deliver and install the above
mentioned items. The technical literature submitted needs to clearly
communicate the offeror_s compliance with the minimum requirements as
set forth in response to his solicitation. Discussions may or may not
be held with the offeror; therefore each offeror_s initial quote should
be complete and accurate. Offerors must provide warranty information
specific to all equipment and installation. Inspection and Acceptance
shall be made by the Contracting Officer or his designated
