The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency requires interpretation of existing aerial photos primarily to provide a ground truth for other types of remotely sensed imagery, and secondarily to provide a characterization of land cover in forested landscapes near streams in Northwestern Oregon. This research is being conducted as part of a larger program to compare and contrast methods for monitoring riparian forests in Northwestern Oregon. The photo interpreter shall provide skills in interpreting aerial photographs of the forested sites in the designated study area. The work will include stand typing, tree species identification, feature measurements, report of findings, and documentation of quality assurance measures and results. Field work will also be required in order to verify observations on the aerial photographs. EPA anticipates an award of a fixed price purchase order using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Work to be performed under this purchase order will consist of a base period and the possibility of additional options. The applicable SIC code is 7389.
