This announcement constitutes the only solicitation: proposals are being requested and a wriiten solicitation will not be issued. Request For Quote Number DAAH13-99-T-0071 applies to this acquisition. Solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-10. The associated standard industrial classification code is 3541 with a small business size stardard of 500. This is a unrestricted acquisition (full and open competition).Line item 0001 has a quantity of one (1) each. The toolroom lathe is intended for use in the machine shop for repair and manufacturing aircraft engine and component parts. Some operations do require precisiion tolerances to comply with original parts specification requirements. Dual system, inch-pound and metric is acceptable if standard with machine. Machine accuracy shall be in accordance with DIN 8605 (Tool Maker Accuracy). Digital readout system shall be installed on the x and z axis of travel. The machine shall be equipped with a coolant system to deliver flow of coolant to the tool. The machine shall be able to operate on 460 volts, 3-phase, 60 Hertz. All components relevant for safe operation shall be electrically interlocked. Lathe shall be equipped with restart protection in case of voltage loss or emergency stop. A worklight shall be provided with the machine. The machine shall be equipped with an hour meter. One day ( eight (8) hours) of operator training is required. Purpose of training wil be to familiarize equipment operator with maintenance and operation; all components, mechanism and assemblies shall conform to all requirements of OSHA: must comply with all applicable EPA restriction in effect on the award date, these requlations apply to the emission of materials hazardous to the environment or the equipment user's health and shall be met during manufacturing, service, transportation, storage, and operation of the machine; The product furnished shall meet the salient characteristics of this purchase description, conform to the producter's own drawings, specification, standards, and quality accurance practice, and be the same product offered for sale to the public.
