This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a request for quotation (RFQ) _ 99QS168. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97.10. This is a small business, small purchase set-aside. The standard industrial classification code is 3663 and the small business size standard is 18M. The 11th Contracting Squadron intends to procure, on a competeive basis, a non-personal service necessary to remove existing electronic message system and install new system. New message system must be LED display a minimum of three lines/16 characters with 8" long characters and be any color that is visible. It must possess remote programming capabilities that utilize a cellular modem. It will be energy efficient to utilize no more than 1200 watts of power. Contractor will remove existing sign, fabricate and install a new outdoor single sided, single color electronic message system in its place. The cabinet dimensions will be 4' 1" x 8' 1" to fit existing framework. Contractor will provide all necessary software and cellular communications equipment necessary for programming and remote operation of the sign. Software and cellular modem will be installed on an existing government computer to be specified by the government. The software and modem must support additional signs if added at a later date. All work will be accomplished by one contractor to ensure no void to warranty. A one year warranty is requested. Quotations can be faxed to SrA LaRochelle at(202) 767-7887.
