J -- FULL SERVICE MAINTENANCE FOR THE GLOBAL FIDUCIALS LIBRARY (GFL) SOL 99HQSS0026 DUE 041999 POC Maggie Russell (703) 648-7366 (CO) Karen Staubs (703) 648-7372 (Contact) The National Mapping Division, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has a requirement for full service operations and maintenance of the Global Fiducials Library (GFL) system located at their secure Advanced Systems Center (ASC) in Reston, Virginia. The GFL is comprised of a variety of vendor's systems (both hardware and software) as well as approximately 10,000 lines of custom developed software code and databases designed to interface all the components of the system. Hardware vendors include Silicon Graphics, Sun Microsystems, Sony, Cisco, Artecon, ENET, Hewlett Packard, Metrum, and Ampex. Software vendors include Silicon Graphics, Sun Microsystems, AMPEX, Autometrics, BMC, Core, Cybersoft, Emass, ESRI, GDE, Hewlett Packard, Lost Altos, Netscape, Oracle, Platinum, and Veritas. Full service to include: (1) one full-time on-site system administrator; (2) full service on-site hardware operations and maintenance; (3) hardware preventative maintenance; (4) COTS software patches, modifications, revisions, versions, releases, etc.; (5) hardware technician for moves and reconfigurations; (6) Oracle Database Administrator; (7) Oracle Database Programmer; and (8) C++ programmer. As the ASC is a secure facility, top secret /sensitive compartmented information (TS/SCI) security clearances are required. The proposed period of performance for this requirement is a 12-month base year with four 1-year option periods. Solicitation No. 99HQSS0026 will be available on or about March 16, 1999.
