The Indian Health Service (IHS) intends to award a 12-month SOLE SOURCE contract to Dr. Lawrence Berger of Albuquerque, New Mexico, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements. THIS IS A TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. Proposed contractor will provide consultant and technical services to the Injury Prevention Fellows in their research projects and consult with the IHS Injury Prevention Program. He will provide assistance with the design, analysis, presentation and publication of the Class of 1999's students. The proposed contractor will review all the Class of 1999's Fellows' studies and choose a minimum of five projects to assist Fellows to translate into manuscripts suitable for publication. The consultant will recommend journals for submission, and advise authors in preparing revisions when requested by editorial reviewers. Consultant will serve as the main editor for a compendium of the IHS Injury Prevention studies. He will serve as the primary coordinator and instructor for the injury prevention training. The target audience for this course will be the Tribal Injury Prevention Program Managers who have identified injury problems in their communities and want to address them using the public health approach.
