Tank-automotive and Armaments Command, Armament Research, Development
and Engineering Center (TACOM-ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey,
has a requirement for engineering System Technical Support (STS) to
support the production of the M919 Armor Piercing, Fin Stabilized,
Discarding Sabot with Tracer (APFSDS-T) 25mm Cartridges. The
engineering technical services required include process and product
improvement analysis, failure analysis, manufacture and ballistic
testing. A thorough knowledge of all the detailed intricacies of the
current M919 design, manufacture and function is also required. The
M919 uses a low-level radioactive penetrator (Depleted Uranium) and is
manufactured in accordance with a top-level drawing and performance
specification, unique to a PRiMEX Technologies, Inc., M919 design. The
government intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed price contract
to PRiMEX Technologies, Inc., Marion, Illinois. Interested sources (for
subcontracting opportunities or otherwise) must possess a valid license
from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). Please be advised that
this is not a request for the submission of offers or proposals; no
contract award will be made as a result of this notice. Interested
parties are highly encouraged to provide information relative to
engineering approaches, analysis techniques, description of facilities
and capabilities, catalogues and/or brochures, and provide a point of
contact for questions. The U.S. Army encourages electronic responses
