Coast Guard CEU Providence is requesting information on elastic mooring
systems for anchoring concrete floating docks comparable to Strait
Moorings International's Hurricane Mooring System, which uses a helical
anchor and SEAFLEX (reinforced homogenous rubber) cord. The system
should be able to accommodate tidal ranges of 20 plus feet and
withstand harsh, cold environments. Systems will need to be able to
accommodate a 3 foot design wave with a 3 second period as well as
docking forces from 3 35 ton vessel. The system must have been in
satisfactory use for a minimum of 5 year. In addition, installation of
the elastic mooring system must be such that underwater portions of
adjacent structures are not damaged. Interested sources should provide
