This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation document and incorporated clauses are those in effect through Federal Acqusition Circular 90-37. The Office of Naval Intelligence has a requirement to procure: 3590 high performance cartridge tapes, must be labeled and initialized with color labels EDP 1688-V6; serial numbers must run consecutively starting with 6255; media type is metal particle; tape cartridges must be compatible with the IBM MagStar drive; 128 track, serpentine, longitudinal recording; 10 GB capacity; performance errors zero; multi-track/coincident -- no more than 10; long length durability -- 200 full file read-while-write passes; analog dropouts (25% remaining threshold single-track)—less than one drop out for each 5 x 10 bits; warranty -- 10 years.
