The project consists of the installation of vertical strip drains and raising of the height of the perimeter dike along the North Dike of the Craney Island Dredged Material Management Area. The work consists of installing vertical prefabricated strip drains through the existing dike and soft clay material to an underlying dense sand layer; installing geotechnical monitoring instrumentation; raising the height of the existing perimeter dike (4H:IV) approximately 5 to 15 feet using on-site borrow material; and all associated work as indicated and specified. The magnitude of construction is estimated to be between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00.
