This requirement, full text published in CBDNet on 2/4/99 and revised
2/11/99, is amended as outlined herein. Revisions include extension of
quote deadline date (quotes are now due by 3:00 p.m. Pacific time on
9 March 1999) and addition of a site visit to enable interested parties
to inspect premises where installation is to occur prior to quoting.
Parties are also advised that in addition to the 75HP compressor, a new
government-owned Ingersoll Rand 50HP compressor is to be installed at
site in conjunction with the 75HP compressor. The following information
is pertinent to the site visit. A site visit has been scheduled for
9:00 a.m. on Friday, 5 March 1999, at the Naval Amphibious Base,
Coronado, Bldg 347 (Glorietta Bay side of base). Representatives are to
meet with Mr. Chuck Fenton (phone 619-437-2961) (NOTE: This corrects
the installation site that was previously stated in the CBD.) Anyone
interested in attending this site visit must contact the Contract
Specialist, Gwen Young at 619-532-2890, fax 619-532-2347, or email
gwen_young@sd.fisc.navy.mil, no later than 3:00 p.m. (Pacific Time) on
Thursday, 4 March 1999. The following provisions/clauses are added
pertinent to the site visit: FAR 52.237-1 SITE VISIT (APR 1984) (a)
Offerors or quoters are urged and expected to inspect the site where
services are to be performed and to satisfy themselves regarding all
general and local conditions that may affect the cost of contract
performance, to the extent that the information is reasonably
obtainable. In no event shall failure to inspect the site constitute
grounds for a claim after contract award; and FAR 52.237-2 PROTECTION
OF GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS, EQUIPMENT, AND VEGETATION (APR 1984) The
Contractor shall use reasonable care to avoid damaging existing
buildings, equipment, and vegetation on the Government installation. If
the Contractor's failure to use reasonable care causes damage to any of
this property, the Contractor shall replace or repair the damage at no
expense to the Government as the Contracting Officer directs. If the
Contractor fails or refuses to make such repair or replacement, the
Contractor shall be liable for the cost, which may be deducted from the
contract price. All other terms and conditions previously published
