Water Softener. The synopsis issued previously on February 19, 1999, is
amended to include the following clarifying information. (1) The
control shall be a solid state programmable unit mounted on the process
piping in a fiberglass NEMA 4X enclosure. (2) Installation is not
required as the unit should arrive as a completely assembled package
requiring only connection to the water and electricity. Government
personnel will install and connect the unit. (3) A drain and 120 volt
electricity are available. (4) Exceptions to the specifications that
are determined to be superior are acceptable. (5) There are no
restrictions to the size of the unit. (6) The flow totalizer must send
an electronic signal to the controller which uses the information to
control the operation of the overall system. The readout must also be
LED digital on the front of the controller with the other information.
(6) Award will be made to the offeror submitting the lowest price
