The National Institute of Standards & Technology has a = requirement
for=20 an all solid=AEstate laser source at 532 nm that is suitable for
= pumping cw and=20 pulsed Ti: sapphire laser systems. The output power
level must be 5W or = greater. The laser must operate in both single
transverse mode and a = single=20 longitudinal mode. The laser must be
single frequency with a linewidth = less=20 than 10 MHz. The mode must
be Gaussian (M2 equal to or less than 1.1). = The=20 power stability is
to be no worse than plus or minus 1 percent after a = 30=20 minute
warmup, and the amplitude noise must be less than 0.03 percent = from
10=20 Hz=AE1 GHz. The output polarization is to be linear (greater than
= 100:1). The=20 beam waist should be on the order of 1 mm. Our
research schedule = requires a=20 delivery time of less than 8 weeks.
It is the intent of the Government = to=20 award this procurement on a
sole source basis under authority of 41=20 U.S.C.253(c)(1) with
Coherent, Inc. of Santa Clara, California. This=20 procurement is being
conducted per FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition=20 Procedures (NTE
$100,000). This synopsis is issued for information = only. No=20
competitive solicitation is planned. Information submitted in response
= to=20 this notice will be used solely to determine whether or not
use of=20 competitive procedures to fulfill this requirement would be
in the=20 Government's best interest and must address qualifications
pertinent to = this=20 requirement. No RFQ is available. All technical
questions shall be=20 addressed to James Bergquist of NIST at 303
497=AE5459. Posted 03/03/99 (D-SN304509). (0062) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0305 19990305\66-0005.SOL)
