Solicitation No. DTRS57-99-Q-80038 is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). This solicitation is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Volpe National Transportation Systems Center (Volpe Center) has a requirement to purchase a Library Information Management and Access System. All interested sources must identify the product being offered by submitting pricing data and an accurate description of system being offered. The System being purchased is as follows: 1. Library Management Information System, Quantity 1 ea. with the following requirements: Must run on Windows 95 or higher, All modules fully operational (not in beta testing) for Circulation, Serials, Catalog and Web-Catalog, All modules must be fully integrated with instantaneous updating and a complete Boolean search capability, Able to convert cataloging data (MARC format) from bibliographic utilities, such as OCLC, Able to provide a Hypertext capability while searching in the Catalog module, Provide flexible reportin g requirements, Possess capability to electronically scan and store text, photographs, charts, spreadsheets and drawings that can be retrieved directly from the catalog, Ability to create a link to Internet sites that provide full-text of documents from the catalog, Capability to create customized data bases and make accessible to defined audiences, Provide a Web-based catalog capable of integrating with other national Transportation Libraries, Must be Year 2000 compliant, Provide quarterly updates to the software and must be able to run on an NT client platform.
