(816) 843- 3717. The Marine Corps Regional Contracting Office proposes
to procure a total of approximately 9000 baseball caps to be shipped
to 9 different locations. All caps will conform to the following: 6
panel, adjustable for size, low peak. The adjustable strap may be of
notched plastic or leather. The underside of the panel seams shall be
taped. Fabric will be made of heavy brushed cotton twill with a weight
of 7 to 9 ounces. A button covered with the same contrasting color
fabric as the bill will be placed on top of the cap where the 6 panels
meet. The ventilation holes in each panel will be stitched in the
contrasting color. On the front of the cap, approximately centered
vertically and horizontally, the word "Marines" will be embroidered. On
the back of the cap, approximately centered, the phrase "THE CHANGE IS
FOREVER" will be embroidered in an arched fashion. The colors of the
caps are as follows: approximately 3,000 Brown (reference Pantone Color
No. 19-1215 TP) with black (reference Pantone Color No. 19-1102 TP)
bill, button, ventilation holes and embroidery. Approximately 3000
Hunter Green (reference Pantone 19-5511 TP) with Black (reference
Pantone Color 19-1102 TP) bill, button and ventilation holes.
Embroidery will be accomplished in True Red (reference Pantone Color
No. 19-1664 TP). Approximately 3000 Hunter Green (reference Pantone
Color No. 19-5511 TP) with Yellow-Gold (reference Pantone Color No
13-0940 TP) bill, button and embroidery. Two bid samples of each color
are required for evaluation and testing for compliance with the
specifications and durability. The samples will not be returned. This
purchase will be issued under simplified acquisition procedures and the
award will be based upon the suitability of bid samples, price and
price related factors. The Buy American Act will apply to this
acquisition. The contract will be an indefinite delivery/indeinite
delivery quantity type contract with a minimum guarantee of $30,000.00
and a maximum value of $200,000.00. The Standard Industrial code and
sizestandard is 2353/500 employees. The RFQ issue date is on or about
15 March 1999 and the opening date is on or about 15 April 1999. Only
facsimile or written requests for copies of the Request for Quotation
will be accepted. No telephone requests will be honored. See Numbered
