GRAPPLING HOOK, COLLAPSIBLE (GHC) REQUEST FOR QUOTATION DAAD16-99-T-1006. This synopsis/solicitation is amended for the purpose of ADDING information on the Instron machine testing that was provided in the first amendment to this acquisition. The original synopsis/solicitation was posted in CBDNet on February 12, 1999 and in the printed issue on February 17, 1999. The first amendment to this synopsis/solicitation was posted in CBDNet on March 1, 1999 and in the printed issue on March 3, 1999. In the first amendment, AFTER the sentence that reads "The GHC is attached to the upper fixture by securing the mid-point on one of the hook elements of the GHC onto a 12 inch long by 2.25 inch steel bar." (19th line down), the following data is INSERTED: "The steel bar is a 3/8 inch thick flat plate. The plate has a small round hole cut all the way through near the bottom of the plate. One of the hook elements of the GHC is passed through the hole on the plate up to its mid-point. A hose clamp is attached to eachside of the element to prevent it from slipping." Also, in the first amendment, the sentence that reads "Using a constant rate of speed an increasing load is applied to the element's mid-point until it either breaks of bends beyond use."
