Tammy Taylor, ttaylor@natick-amed02.army.mil. GRAPPLING HOOK,
COLLAPSIBLE (GHC) REQUEST FOR QUOTATION DAAD16-99-T-1006. This
synopsis/solicitation is amended for the purpose of ADDING information
on the Instron machine testing that was provided in the first
amendment to this acquisition. The original synopsis/solicitation was
posted in CBDNet on February 12, 1999 and in the printed issue on
February 17, 1999. The first amendment to this synopsis/solicitation
was posted in CBDNet on March 1, 1999 and in the printed issue on March
3, 1999. In the first amendment, AFTER the sentence that reads "The GHC
is attached to the upper fixture by securing the mid-point on one of
the hook elements of the GHC onto a 12 inch long by 2.25 inch steel
bar." (19th line down), the following data is INSERTED: "The steel bar
is a 3/8 inch thick flat plate. The plate has a small round hole cut
all the way through near the bottom of the plate. One of the hook
elements of the GHC is passed through the hole on the plate up to its
mid-point. A hose clamp is attached to eachside of the element to
prevent it from slipping." Also, in the first amendment, the sentence
that reads "Using a constant rate of speed an increasing load is
applied to the element's mid-point until it either breaks of bends
beyond use." (22nd line down) is MODIFIED to include the phrase "in the
upward direction" directly after the word APPLIED. See Numbered Note(s)
