B -- SPECIALIZED SAMPLE ANALYSIS CONTRACT SOL F08650-99-R-0117 POC Lois Brockson, Contract Specialist (407) 494-8354 or John Moore, Contracting Officer (407) 494-1668 The 45th Contracting Squadron intends to negotiate a contract on a sole source basis with The BOC Group, Murray Hill, NJ, on behalf of the Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC) Materials Directorate for atmospheric gas analysis services. These services are primarily concerned with the processing, separation and radioassay of atmospheric gas samples for elemental determination of sample components for the purpose of nuclear test ban treaty verification. This sole source acquisition is justified under 10 U.S.C. 2304(C)(1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Evaluation of the contractor's unique capability and acquisition history concluded that the specialized effort required is available from only one source. The program will be a multi-year effort. Contractor personnel require DoD security clearances of at least the SECRET level and participation requires both a facility and storage capability security clearance of at least SECRET. ANuclear Regulatory approved Radioactive Materials License is required. The SIC code and size standard for this acquisition are 8734/$5M. No solicitation documents exist at this time.
