Oil & water separators: prior to cleaning and pumping operations, the contractor shall perform appropriate tests of the contents (floating materials, liquid and sludge) to determine if the materials are hazardous waste. Grease & sand traps: pump out all grease and residues from trap; remove waste build up from trap or pit walls and all associated equipment within the pit; flush down with water & pump out remaining residue; transport all materials from grease & sand traps to an approved on-base holding area until tested and approved for removal; remove material from holding area to an approved oil recovery and storage facility. Performance period will be for one year from date of award with 4 one-year options. There are twenty-seven (27) oil & water separators, three (3) sand traps, four (4) grease traps and five (5) lift stations. The applicable SIC code is 8999 and the corresponding size standard is $5 million. Tentative issue date of solicitation is on or about 6 Apr 99.
