R -- ON-SITE SUPPORT SERVICE SOL 60-9-5489 POC Linda Catterton (301)457-1840 The Bureau of the Census intends to issue a contract to Computer Merchant LTD, 95 Longwater Circle, Norwell MA 02061 to provide on-site support for a DEC/Alpha Open/VMS Platform. The contractor will provide necessary personnel, management, materials, administrative support, Information Engineering (IE) technical services and training to support the requirements of the Economic Statistical Methods and Programming Division. Contractor will be on-site at the Census Bureau (Suitland, MD) working forty hours/week to include core hours of 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Contractor personnel should have knowledge and experience in Fortran, Oracle CDD/Repository, DECset tools, DCL, COBOL, Oracle/Rdb and SQL software. The on-site individual will have a general knowledge, skill and capability to provide problem resolution for programmers using the DEC/Alpha OpenVMS platform. A minimum of four years in information systems development, functional and data requirements analysis, system analysis, and program design is required.Contractor should have the ability to work independently under minimal supervision, analyze complex information system requirements, assist with the rewrite, modify, or recompilation of code modules in third or fourth generations languages, run acceptance test to tune and debug as needed, perform DBA functions for Oracle/Rdb, provide advice on issues relating to efficient code and design of applications on the Economic DEC/Alpha clusters and provide resolutions for performance tuning problems of Alpha-based applications.
